Volunteer Opportunities

Ways to Volunteer

  1. Morning Cleaning and Animal Care: Help maintain a clean and safe environment for our animals. 
  2. Walking Dogs and Cleaning Kennels: Spend quality time with dogs while ensuring their spaces are tidy. Cuddle Kitties: Assist at our Main location, Petco and PetSmart locations with cat care and socialization. 
  3. Adoption Counseling: Help potential adopters find their perfect pet match. 
  4. Laundry and Dishes: Keep our supplies clean and ready for use. 
  5. Pet Photography: Capture the personalities of our animals to aid in adoption efforts. 
  6. Fostering: Provide temporary homes for animals in need. 
  7. Events: Assist at events to promote HALO and engage with the community. 
  8. HALO Thrift Boutique: Help manage the thrift shop and support fundraising efforts.

Places to Volunteer

  • HALO Main Shelter: Work directly with animals in our main facility.
  • PetSmart and Petco Stores: Volunteer at partner locations where HALO pets are available for adoption.
  • HALO Thrift Boutique: Support our thrift store operations.
  • Adoption Events Across the Valley: Participate in community events to promote adoptions.

Volunteer Requirements

  • Must be at least 16 years old.
  • Complete the online volunteer orientation.
  • No minimum or maximum hour commitment.

Group Volunteer Guidelines

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with us! Here are some important guidelines for group volunteering:

  • Maximum Group Size: We can accommodate groups of up to 10 volunteers at a time. This helps ensure a comfortable and manageable environment for everyone involved.
  • Larger Groups: If your team has more than 10 members, we’d be happy to arrange multiple shifts. These can be scheduled on the same day or spread across different days.
  • Location: All group volunteer shifts will take place at our Main Shelter.
